A new study from the University at Albany found that African American men are designated as sex offenders nearly twice as often as white men in the U.S. In fact, 1 percent of African American men are registered sex offenders. The study entitled "Punishing Sex: Sex Offenders And The Missing Punitive Turn In Sexuality Studies" was authored by UAlbany assistant professor of sociology Trevor Hoppe.
