NYC Thanksgiving Day Parade Security

Mayor Bill de Blasio is saying there are no specific or credible threats against New York City as Thanksgiving approaches.

Tens of thousands of people will descend on Midtown on Thursday for the annual Thanksgiving Day parade.

But de Blasio said Monday that he was confident that the New York Police Department would keep the revelers safe.

An Islamic State group video released last week showed images of Times Square but officials said the footage was old and did not suggest an imminent threat.

De Blasio did not commit to being at the parade or even in the city as a show of defiance against any terror threat.

He said his holiday plans were still being worked out. Last year, he celebrated Thanksgiving with relatives in Connecticut.
