McCoy Cruises, But Some Incumbents Fall On Primary Night

It was a mixed night for incumbents in Thursday's New York state local primaries.

-Incumbent Dan McCoy has defeated Dan Egan in the Democratic primary for Albany County Executive.

-Albany County Legislature Chair Shawn Morse has defeated Dianne Nolin in the Democratic primary for Cohoes mayor. Morse will succeed his uncle as mayor of Cohoes.

-Incumbent Newburgh Mayor Judy Kennedy appears to have lost a three-way Democratic primary to Jonathan Jacobson.

-Incumbent Kingston Mayor Shayne Gallo has lost the Democratic primary to Steve Noble.

-Patrick Russo was leading Scott Ryan overwhelmingly in the GOP primary for Rensselaer County sheriff.

-In Troy, City Council President Rodney Wiltshire trailed Patrick Madden by five votes with all precincts in in the three-way Democratic mayoral primary.

-Rob Rolison, the Dutchess County Legislature chair, declared victory in the Poughkeepsie GOP mayoral primary.
