NY Casino Developers Vow To Meet Environmental Standards

wikipedia

Developers of a proposed Finger Lakes casino forced to restart an environmental review say it will meet or exceed all standards.

Lago Resort & Casino partners Wilmorite and Peninsula Pacific said Wednesday they filed more than 3,000 pages of environmental reports to the Town of Tyre as the small town proceeds for a second time with a state-mandated environmental review.

Work on the Lago site near the Thruway between Rochester and Syracuse was halted this summer after an appeals court faulted the way the town board determined that the project would have no significant adverse environmental impacts.

Opponents claim the proposed casino would create significant environmental impacts.

Developers filed papers saying local wetlands, water supplies and wildlife areas will be protected from harm.
