Robert Forezzi Sr. served as Albany's Fire Chief from 2006 to 2013. A city native, Forezzi worked for the department for nearly four decades, primarily at the Midtown Station.
In a Facebook post, Albany mayor Kathy Sheehan said while Forezzi was chief the fire department "improved safety training for firefighters, expanded its fire education program for children, and increased community engagement."
Details about funeral arrangements will be released.
