Last night in New York, Carmelo Anthony poured in 25 points, Landry Fields chipped in 18, as the Knicks hammered Detroit 113-86.
In Cleveland, Paul Pierce netted 20 points, Kevin Garnett added 13, as the Celtics avoided their second loss to the Cavaliers in three days by posting a 93-90 win.
In Indianapolis, Paul George dropped in 24, as the Pacers cut down the Nets 106-99.
Elsewhere, Atlanta topped Toronto 100-77, Memphis downed Denver 100-97, the Lakers routed Charlotte 106-73, and Golden State edged Sacramento 93-90.
Among Top 25 college hoops, Kentucky routed Tennessee 69-44, Illinois upset Michigan State 42-41, and North Carolina cruised past Wake Forest 68-53.
On the Women's side, Notre Dame blew out Rutgers 71-41, and Oklahoma upended Kansas 74-68 in OT.
To the ice, last night in New Jersey, David Clarkson scored the game-tying goal late in the third, and Ilya Kovalchuk netted the only goal in the shootout as the Devils beat the Rangers 4-3.
In Boston, Dennis Seidenberg scored the tie-breaking goal on a slap shot from center ice, rallying the Bruins to a 4-3 win over Ottawa.
In Raleigh, John Tavares scored two of the Islanders three third period goals as they routed Carolina 5-2.
In Montreal, Paul Gaustad had a goal and two assists to lead the Sabres to a 3-1 win over the Canadiens.
Elsewhere, Pittsburgh outlasted Toronto 5-4 in a shootout, Tampa Bay skated past Washington 4-3, Nashville nipped Minnesota 5-4, San Jose blanked Columbus 6-0, Vancouver got by Chicago 3-2, Anaheim edged Phoenix 4-1, Winnipeg doubled up Philadelphia 2-1, Detroit dumped Calgary 3-1, and Edmonton bested Colorado 3-2.
In NFL news, Peyton Manning told reporters gathered in Indianapolis for Super Bowl 46 that he has no plans to retire and that his recovery from neck surgery is on schedule. The Colts quarterback says he threw on Tuesday morning and the session went well.
And in baseball news, the Diamondbacks have avoided salary arbitration with two starters, locking catcher Miguel Montero into a one-year deal worth $5.9 million, and inking infielder Ryan Roberts to a one-year deal worth $2 million.
