Albany, NY – Well here we go again: Four years after the Giants stunned the Patriots in Super Bowl 42, they're going to have a rematch in Super Bowl 46...
Last night in the NFC Championship from soggy San Francisco, 49ers kicker David Akers' 25-yard field goal tied the score at 17, forcing the Giants and 49ers into overtime.
After exchanging a couple of unsuccessful possessions, Kyle Williams coughed up a punt deep in San Francisco's end, giving the Giants great field position. A couple plays later, Lawrence Tynes drilled a 31-yard field goal, lifting the Giants over the 49ers 20-17 and into Super Bowl 46 - Sound courtesy of Fox.
Meanwhile in Foxboro, trailing by three late in the fourth, the Ravens marched deep down into the Patriots end. Two plays after a dropped touchdown pass and with :11 seconds showing on the clock, Baltimore sent out the field goal unit to send the game into overtime...right? Wrong.
Billy Cundiff shanked a 32-yard field-goal wide left, giving the Patriots a 23-20 win over the Ravens - Sound courtesy of CBS. New England advances to its 5th Super Bowl appearance in 11 years.
