Albany, NY – Well the Wolverines' overtime win was extra sweet...
Last night at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Brendan Gibbons drilled a 37-yard field goal in overtime, lifting Michigan to a 23-20 win over Virginia Tech. Sound courtesy of ESPN. Denard Robinson tossed two touchdown passes for the Wolverines, who finished 11-2 under new head coach Brady Hoke. The Hokies finished 11-3.

To the NBA, Portland topped Oklahoma City 103-93, the Lakers held off Houston 108-99, Chicago edged Atlanta 76-74, Cleveland cruised past Charlotte 115-101, Memphis got by Sacramento 113-96, and Utah downed Milwaukee 85-73.

To Top 25 college hoops, Ohio State blew out Nebraska 71-40, Kentucky put away Arkansas-Little Rock 73-51, Missouri routed Oklahoma 87-49, Seton Hall stunned U-Conn 75-63, Michigan State held off Wisconsin 63-60, Louisville downed St. John's 73-58, Florida beat UAB 79-61, and Fordham upset Harvard 60-54.

On the Women's side, DePaul surprised Georgetown 59-50, Louisville beat Marquette 70-53, and Rutgers got by Syracuse 55-44.

To the ice, Buffalo bounced Edmonton 4-3, Washington dumped Calgary 3-1, St. Louis skated past Phoenix 4-1, the Islanders nipped Carolina 4-3, Detroit dropped Dallas 5-4, and Toronto trounced Tampa Bay 7-3.

And in baseball news, outfielder Coco Crisp has agreed on a two year, $14 million dollar deal with Oakland.
