Albany, NY – Well Chris Paul is going to Hollywood this time, to the Clippers...

The Hornets have traded all-star point guard Chris Paul to Los Angeles for guard Eric Gordon, forward Al-Farouq Aminu, center Chris Kaman, and a first-round pick. Stern approved the trade on behalf of the league-owned Hornets. Last week, Stern vetoed a proposed trade that would have sent Paul to the Lakers.

In other NBA news, the Cavaliers have waived point guard Baron Davis, the Grizzlies have signed center Marc Gasol, and the Bulls have added guard Richard Hamilton.

To the ice, last night in Ottawa, Tim Thomas turned aside 47 shots, as the defending Stanley Cup champion Bruins dumped the Senators 5-2. Boston's 17-2-1 since November 1st.

Elsewhere, Anaheim downed Phoenix 4-1, and Chicago topped Minnesota 4-3 in a shootout.
To Top 25 college hoops, Ohio State hammered USC Upstate 82-58, and Baylor blitzed Bethune-Cookman 69-42.

On the Women's side, Tennessee blew out Arkansas-Pine Bluff 79-40, and Louisville held off Cincinnati 64-59.

In baseball news, the NL Central champion Brewers have finalized a $36 million dollar, three-year deal with third baseman Aramis Ramirez. Ramirez's power should help the Brewers make up for the anticipated loss of first baseman Prince Fielder through free agency, and NL MVP Ryan Braun likely for the first 50 games of the upcoming season following a positive drug test - he's appealing the suspension.

In other news, the A's and pitcher Dallas Braden have agreed on a one year deal, and the Red Sox have acquired closer Mark Melancon from the Astros for infielder Jed Lowrie and pitcher Kyle Weiland. The deal brings Boston a potential replacement for closer Jonathan Papelbon, who signed as a free agent with the Phillies. ESPN also reports that the Red Sox signed infielder Nick Punto to a two-year deal.
