Albany, NY – Well there are now three coaching vacancies in the NFL...
Yesterday, the Chiefs fired Todd Haley following Sunday's 37-10 blowout loss to the Jets. Defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel takes over the 5-8 Chiefs on an interim basis. Meanwhile, the Dolphins also fired their head coach, canning Tony Sparano following their 26-10 loss to Philadelphia. Assistant coach Todd Bowles takes over the 4-9 Dolphins as interim head coach. The Jaguars dismissed head coach Jack Del Rio on November 29th.
On Monday Night Football, last night in Seattle, the Seahawks kept their postseason hopes alive by silencing the Rams 30-13. 'Beast Mode' Marshawn Lynch rumbled for 115 yards and a score for the Seahawks, who've won four of their last five.
In other NFL news, Jets coach Rex Ryan says safety Jim Leonhard has torn the patella tendon in his right knee and is done for the season.
Only one game on the ice last night, Zach Parise had a goal and two assists, as the Devils skated past the Lightning 5-4.
In other NHL news, Penguins star Sidney Crosby is out indefinitely again, after experiencing a recurrence of concussion-like symptoms.
In NBA news, Chris Paul isn't coming to Los Angeles, at least not quite yet. The Clippers rejected a proposed deal by the Hornets because the team felt "the cost was just too high." The Clippers package reportedly included Chris Kaman, Eric Bledsoe, Al-Farouq Aminu, and their No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft.
And in baseball news, the Phillies have traded Ben Francisco to the Blue Jays, the Cardinals have signed Rafael Furcal, and the Dodgers have added Tony Gwynn Jr.
