Albany, NY – Well Tampa Bay is headed to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since its Stanley Cup championship in 2004...
On the ice in Tampa Bay, Sean Bergenheim tallied twice to help the Lightning finish off a series sweep of the Capitals 5-3.
Lightning also struck in Boston. The Bruins scored two goals in the first 63 seconds, as they cruised to a 5-1 win over Philadelphia. Boston leads the series three games to none.
And in Detroit, Devin Setoguchi's hat trick led San Jose over the Red Wings 4-3 in OT. The Sharks lead three games to none.
To the NBA... In Los Angeles, Dirk Nowitzki dropped in 24 points as Dallas stunned the Lakers 93-81. The Mavericks head home up two games to none in the Western Conference semifinal.
In Chicago, Derrick Rose scored 25 points to lead the Bulls over Atlanta 86-73, evening the Eastern Conference semifinal at one game apiece.
In other NBA news, Clippers' Blake Griffin has been named the rookie of the year. Griffin received all 118 first place votes.
To baseball... Tim Lincecum fanned 12 over seven innings to pitch San Francisco over the Mets 2-0.
In other NL action, the Cubs beat the Dodgers 4-1, Atlanta swept a doubleheader from Milwaukie 8-3 and 8-0, Cincinnati rallied past Houston 3-2, Philadelphia beat Washington 7-4, Pittsburgh dumped San Diego 7-2, Florida edged St. Louis 8-7, and Colorado clipped Arizona 6-4.
Over to the AL... Bobby Abreu's bases loaded single knocked in two runs, as the Angels outlasted the Red Sox 5-3 in 13.
In Detroit, Magglio Ordonez lifted a two-run shot as the Tigers blanked the Yankees 4-0.
Elsewhere, Toronto topped Tampa Bay 3-2, Texas sank Seattle 5-2, Minnesota edged the White Sox 3-2, Oakland got by Cleveland 3-1, and Baltimore beat Kansas City 3-2.
