Hudson Valley, NY –
The stories that make headlines today often are echoes of things that have happened before. Today's recession has many parallels with the Great Depression the pandemic scares are reminiscent of the polio epidemic of the 40s. And today's changing business climate with concerns that a new model needs to be found to replace an economy based on the service industry, holds echoes of the transitions that changed the face of many cities throughout the 20th century. Yesterday, Hudson Valley bureau chief Susan Barnett introduced us to Edwin Ford, the city of Kingston's historian, who's seen those transitions firsthand during his 91 years in the Hudson Valley. Today, he talks about education, progress...and making ends meet in today's world.
TAG: Edwin Ford is the city of Kingston historian...and he celebrates his 92nd birthday this year.
