Don't Ask Don't Tell: A Personal Story

By Susan Barnett

Hudson Valley, NY –

Nathanael Bodon of Marlboro is home from Iraq this Christmas, discharged from the Army because he's gay. When one of his comrades reported his online blog, the Army told him he was out. He had posted a photo in which he was kissing his boyfriend. He had to fight to get an honorable discharge, and he told Hudson Valley bureau chief Susan Barnett he'd discussed the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy with his mother before he left.

Bodon says he's planning on going to school in Indiana - and he's moving in with his boyfriend there.
