Glens Falls, NY – Last month President Barack Obama announced an ambitious project: build a nationwide high-speed rail network along 10 major corridors, including the Empire Corridor from New York City to Albany to Buffalo. The president's plan includes an $8 billion "down payment" through the economic recovery act that was passed in February, and future federal spending of $1 billion per year for at least five years. Some of that money is already flowing to the region. Capital District Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports.
