Poughkeepsie, NY – With about one-third of the $25 million needed to build it as good as in the bank, the Walkway Over the Hudson on the old Poughkeepsie Highland Railroad Bridge in New York's Hudson Valley will see the start of construction this summer. A final design report has been completed by a consultant and work will begin to transform the 6,700 foot long, 100-year-old structure into a linear park opening pedestrian and bicycle access to both sides of the Hudson River in Ulster and Dutchess counties.WAMC's Hank Gross has more...
