Albany, NY – The Albany, New York school district is looking to close an achievement gap in learning between students of different races and ethnic groups. District officials have brought in educational consultants to help in that effort. Meanwhile, the school board Monday night voted to use $6.2 million in state aid to prevent a double-digit percent hike in school property tax--in the district's nearly $170 million budget.
