Lake Placid, NY – The Lake Placid Lodge is one of the Adirondacks' most exclusive mountain retreats. Charging prices up to eleven-hundred dollars a night, the secluded lakeside resort dates back to 1882 and has attracted people like Bill Gates and Britney Spears. On Thursday the lodge, one of America's top hotels and an Adirondack landmark, was devastated by fire. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
