It’s estimated that about 56,000 people in Massachusetts have lost their health insurance since last spring when unemployment soared as a result of the pandemic-induced business shutdowns.

The state’s online health insurance exchange, the Massachusetts Health Connector, expects a surge in people shopping for coverage.

An open enrollment period started Nov 1st and continues through January 23, 2021.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Audrey Gasteier, the Chief of Policy and Strategy for the Health Connector.
