Vermont's top education official says the state's schools are moving to the next stage of reopening.
Education Secretary Daniel French said Tuesday that schools will be able move to the next level in the reopening plan beginning Saturday. He says they chose Saturday so interscholastic competition can begin.  “We wanted to give our student athletes an extra weekend for what has already been a shortened season.”

Since school began Sept. 8, there have been four cases of COVID-19 in three Vermont schools. Officials say no one was infected within schools; they all caught the virus elsewhere.
