Holyoke, Massachusetts Mayor Alex Morse’s Congressional campaign has been endorsed by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

Alex Morse is challenging incumbent Richard Neal in the Democratic primary for the 1st Massachusetts Congressional District.

“Andrew Yang throughout his presidential campaign talked a lot about Universal Basic Income, he talked about data rights and protecting the data and rights of everyday people around the country, and he talked a lot about drug policy reform, and these are three issues that are important to me and issues that I’ve been elevating and centering throughout my campaign,” Morse told WAMC.

Morse and Yang both graduated from Brown in Rhode Island. The primary is September 1st.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
