A nursing and rehabilitation center in Williamstown, Massachusetts says one of its residents has tested positive for COVID-19.

Lisa Gaudet is the Vice President of Communications for Berkshire Healthcare, which manages the Williamstown Commons facility.

“We have a resident at Williamstown Commons who has tested positive for COVID-19," said Gaudet. "My understanding is that the symptoms are as such that we’re able to adequately care for that resident in our facility and we are following Centers for Disease Control and Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines in terms of how we do that.”

Williamstown Commons houses 134 residents. Gaudet says she is unaware of any additional cases of COVID-19 there.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
