On Monday morning, Pittsfield, Massachusetts will hold an inauguration ceremony for the municipal leaders who prevailed in November’s elections.
The ceremony will see Mayor Linda Tyer be sworn-in to her second four-year term and give remarks, as well as the swearing-in of the new roster of the city council and school committee. City Clerk Michelle Benjamin will also be sworn in.
“We’re going to have the pledge of allegiance by class council presidents from both Pittsfield High and Taconic," explained Benjamin. "They’ll open up the inauguration. Then we’ll have an invocation from Father Gregory. We’re going to have a performance from Kids 4 Harmony – it’s a program of 18 Degrees.”
The inauguration will also see the election of the next city council president and vice president, as well as new seat assignments for each council member. It’s scheduled for 10 a.m. in the city council chambers.
