Dina Guiel Lampiasi was elected to the city council in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in November. The chief of operations for the Berkshire County District Attorney, she’ll represent the city’s 6th Ward for the next two years after besting former councilor Joe Nichols at the polls. Councilor John Krol, who held the seat for the past decade, did not run for reelection in 2019. Guiel Lampiasi sat down with WAMC to talk about the city’s finances and what she learned during the campaign.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018 after working at stations including WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Berkshire County, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. You can reach him at jlandes@wamc.org with questions, tips, and/or feedback.
