Vermont Officials To Provide PFAS Updates
Vermont state officials will be on hand in the Bennington area this week to answer questions about ongoing remediation efforts for PFAS contamination.
An open house will be held at the Downstate Office building in Bennington from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
In addition, Vermont Agency of Natural Resources Secretary Julie Moore will hold a public meeting set to begin at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the Dewey Building in Montpelier.
Earlier this year, Vermont lawmakers passed Act 21, requiring all public drinking water supplies to be tested for the carcinogenic compounds. PFAS chemicals are at the center of investigations and remediation efforts in Hoosick Falls, Petersburgh, and Newburgh, New York and other Northeast communities.
