Police say they are no longer investigating an alleged racially-motivated assault at Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office said on Nov. 15 that the student alleging the assault has told detectives that the student will no longer cooperate. The student also refused to cooperate with a private investigator hired by the college.

The student reported being knocked unconscious, dragged into a wooded area on campus and attacked on September 27.

Authorities said in Octoberthat evidence gathered revealed inconsistencies with the allegations.

Police say they will not charge the student with making a false report.
