Lenox, Massachusetts voters approved a plan to regulate short-term rentals for services like Airbnb at a special town meeting Thursday.
The third time was the charm for the Berkshire community, as residents accepted short-term rental terms proposed by the town planning commission after two rejected efforts. Town clerk Kerry Sullivan says the new bylaw has explicit guidelines on how such rentals can be offered in Lenox.
“Short term rental of rooms, short term rental of entire dwellings, short term rental of entire dwellings 35 days up to 110 days, so they’re just trying to regulate that, for lack of a better term.”
The vote passed 151 to 61. For more on the new bylaw, click here.
