Vermont State Police are investigating an apparent suspicious death in Rutland.
Police say 59-year-old Joseph M. Johnson was found dead in his home by a probation officer who was doing a welfare check.
Rutland City Police Commander David Lachance says when they looked through a back window they saw a body on the floor.
WCAX-TV reports that Police have called the death suspicious but say there is no indication that the public is in danger.
Police are not saying how he died.
