Isabel Roche is the Provost and Dean of Bennington College, but on July 1st she’ll become interim president of the private liberal arts college of about 700 students. The current president – Mariko Silver – is leaving the Bennington, Vermont school to lead the Henry Luce Foundation after six years on the job. Roche spoke with WAMC about the tumult surrounding higher education in the region, as well as what she says she’ll bring to her new role at Bennington.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
