With the Fresh Grass festival returning to MASS MoCA this weekend, North Adams, Massachusetts is preparing for an influx of traffic.
The celebration of bluegrass, folk, and Americana on the museum’s campus will bring hordes of cars to the small northern Berkshire County city of around 13,000. Administrative Officer Michael Canales says the city has prepared overflow parking zones, stretching south on Route 8 once downtown spots fill up.
“Starting at the Haskins School / Joe Wolfe Field complex, there’ll be parking," Canales told WAMC. "There’s parking on half of the lot at the Ocean State Job Lots, and then down at the current highway — past Walmart on the Adams line — there’s additional parking at the old Price Chopper lot.”
Shuttle buses will ferry attendees to the museum campus.
