Plans have been drawn up to convert a vacant mill in downtown Chicopee, Massachusetts into an apartment building.
Developer Herbert Berezin has applied for a special permit to renovate a 65,000-square-foot five-story mill building and construct 107 studio apartments.
"People will be able to live and work in the building," said Berezin.
The Chicopee City Council authorized public hearings on the plan.
The Baker administration awarded Chicopee $2.6 million from the MassWorks program to build new water and sewer lines to facilitate the project.
