Serious Traffic Collisions Are On The Decline In Berkshire County

A new report says there has been a decrease in serious traffic collisions in Berkshire County. 

A report by the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission says the number of serious injuries and deaths as a result traffic collisions in Berkshire County is on the decline.

There has been a 17.3 percent decline in fatalities since 2011, which is falling faster than the state average. The Berkshires ranks high for crashes per miles driven because of its rural setting.

Alongside the state Department of Transportation, the Commission outlined intersections and roadways where more accidents occur, including the intersection of Routes 183 and 23 in Great Barrington, Fenn and First Streets in Pittsfield and a newly constructed roundabout in Adams.
