Monument Valley Road in Great Barrington, Massachusetts was one of the many backdrops of Paramount Pictures’ “Daddy’s Home 2,” the Will Ferrell movie opening Friday.

Paramount Pictures says the economic impact of filming in Great Barrington was more than $19 million. The Berkshire Eagle reports the filming injected more than $1.8 million at area lodging, $560,000 at nearby restaurants, and $2.7 million in vehicle rentals and supplies.

Ski Butternut, one of the region’s largest ski mountains, was crew headquarters for filming.

The state provides tax incentives and sales tax exemption for projects that spend more than half of the film’s total budget in Massachusetts. Payroll credits only require $50,000 in expenses to qualify.
