The Massachusetts State Senate recently approved a measure by Senator Adam Hinds to expand a veterans tax write-off program through community service. It was an amendment to legislation by fellow Western Massachusetts Democrat State Representative Smitty Pignatelli of the 4th Berkshire District. WAMC’s Berkshire Bureau Chief JD Allen spoke with Pignatelli about how veterans and the community can benefit from the property tax program.
The bill is awaiting further action from the state House.
