North Adams, Massachusetts will once again seek a state grant to build a splash park.
The North Adams City Council approved an application for a $400,000 grant from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs last week.
The City Council says the federal Parkland Acquisitions and Renovation for Communities Program grant will completely fund renovations at Noel Park Athletic Field – including the construction of a splash park. The entire project will cost roughly $780,000.
North Adams failed to win this grant last year as it sought to improve outdoor recreational activities in the city.
The city opens its first skate park next week.
