The Adams-Cheshire Regional School Committee in Massachusetts has finally passed its budget for next year on the third try.
The Adams-Cheshire Regional School Committee has passed its budget for next year – totaling just more than $19 million – but it failed to keep all three of its school buildings open.
The committee decided to close Cheshire Elementary School. Children will be moved to C.T. Plunkett Elementary in Adams for more space and to save the district about $100,000.
The School Committee still plans to add several new positions.
The budget can still be voted down by residents in June.
