The Clark Art Institute has named a new director roughly a year after long-time leader Michael Conforti retired.Olivier Meslay is expected to start at the art museum in Williamstown August 22nd. He comes to the Clark from the Dallas Museum of Art where he’s spent the past seven years mainly as a curator. He also served as interim director from 2011 to 2012. Meslay becomes the Clark’s fifth director.
Michael Conforti retired last summer after nearly two decades leading the Clark, home to nearly 10,000 works.
