Conversation With Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger

Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger attended the winter meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the Mayors’ Innovation Project in Washington last week. He tells WAMC’s North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley about what was discussed and some of the priorities he wants the Vermont legislature to address.
The North Avenue traffic pilot would reduce four lanes to three to create a turning lane and bicycle lanes.  The pattern would be tested this spring.  City councilors approved placing a non-binding Town Meeting Day ballot question petitioned by opponents to keep the street four lanes.
