Due to forecasts predicting a mix of snow and sleet in the region, the city of Pittsfield has declared a snow emergency from Monday night until Wednesday morning.From 11 p.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Wednesday on-street parking will not be allowed in Pittsfield except on North Street between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. No vehicle is allowed in open city parking lots between midnight and 7 a.m. during the snow emergency so the areas can be plowed and sanded. People without off-street parking can park in the three-hour spots in the McKay Center and Columbus Avenue garages without penalty.
A winter weather advisory is posted from 7 p.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Tuesday with two to five inches of snow and a layer of ice expected.
