A Pittsfield man charged with murdering his wife last week has pleaded not guilty.Timothy Gill pleaded not guilty to murdering his 37-year-old wife during an arraignment in Central Berkshire District Court Tuesday. According to the Berkshire District Attorney’s office, Pittsfield Police found the body of Halena Irene Gill in the couple’s Madison Avenue apartment shortly after 8 o’clock Thursday morning. An autopsy over the weekend ruled the death a homicide with the preliminary cause being strangulation.
Police arrested Timothy Gill Monday afternoon. He is being held without bail. Gill is expected back in court Jan. 14.
