Republican Lisman Kicks Off Campaign For Vermont Governor

Campaign for Vermont
Bruce Lisman

Retired Wall Street executive Bruce Lisman on Monday formally began his campaign for the Republican nomination for Vermont governor in next year's election.
Lisman started a 2 day kick-off of his gubernatorial campaign a dairy farm in Sheldon, near the Canadian border.  He says Vermont needs to create a culture of change in state government. “What the state has lacked for too long is a sense of direction.  People are angry with their government.  That’s why I’m running.  They’re saying we need somebody to speak for us. Help us.”

Lisman faces Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott in a Republican primary.   Three Democrats are seeking their party's nomination. Governor Peter Shumlin is not seeking re-election next year.
