Malloy Confirms Face-To-Face Talks With GE About Moving HQ

wikipedia.org

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy says he met earlier this month with General Electric officials to offer some incentives to keep the company from moving out of state. While offering no details, the Democrat confirmed Monday that he and members of his administration "made a presentation" to GE and "indicated in general and in some cases specific terms" of what the state could offer to discourage the multinational conglomerate from moving its headquarters.

There have been various news reports in recent weeks about GE considering locations in different states. GE is headquartered in Fairfield, employing about 800 people.

Malloy said his administration would like GE to stay in Connecticut, but acknowledges that it's a competitive situation.
