Searchers have found the body of a 7-month-old boy missing after his father jumped into the Connecticut River between Middletown and Portland. The boy’s body was found last night in East Haddam.

Aaden Moreno was reported missing when police say his father, 22-year-old Tony Moreno, jumped from the Arrigoni Bridge between Middletown and Portland. A search began immediately.

Police spoke with family members and visited homes where they believed Moreno may have taken the child, but later said they believe the child went into the water.

Firefighters pulled Moreno from the river. He was hospitalized in serious condition.

Police say charges are expected.
