Downed Wire Causing Outage In Pittsfield, Richmond And Lenox

Update: As of 6:15 p.m. some 21 Eversource customers remain without power, according to a company spokesman. A crew remains at the site of a downed line. The spokesman says there is no time frame as to when power will be restored to those customers.

A downed wire caused more than 900 Eversource customers to lose power in west Pittsfield, Richmond and Lenox. Power went out shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday in Pittsfield, including at WAMC's Berkshire Bureau.

As of 5:30 p.m. a company spokesman says a crew is at the site of the downed wire. At the time, the spokesman said power could be restored within the next few hours.
