Woman Hospitalized After Being Hit By Train In Pittsfield
A woman is in the hospital after being hit by a train Thursday night in Pittsfield.Pittsfield Police say they received a call from CSX Railroad around 9 p.m. Thursday reporting that one of its trains hit a pedestrian between Second and Oak Street.
Police, fire and ambulance workers found a 37-year-old woman underneath the Second Street bridge. She was conscious and alert, but had severe head and leg injuries, according to police.
She was taken to Berkshire Medical Center. Police have not said why the woman was on the tracks. Police continue to investigate.
