wikipedia.org

The restored chief of the beleaguered Market Basket supermarket chain thanked workers at company headquarters in Massachusetts for their efforts in helping him regain control of the company. In what seemed like a victory speech Thursday, Arthur T. Demoulas addressed several hundred cheering workers in Tewksbury.

“Word’s cannot express how much I love you,” Demoulas said to rousing applause and cheers from the crowd of “We love you.”

Late Wednesday, Demoulas announced an agreement had been reached for him to buy 50.5 percent of the company for $1.5 billion from his cousin Arthur S. Demoulas and his allies, who reportedly took control of the company’s board in June. Workers then walked off the job, leaving shelves empty at many of the 71 stores across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.

Demoulas told workers he is in awe of what they accomplished.

“In that process we just happened to save our company,” Demoulas said.”

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan said they are delighted with the resolution.
