http://www.ct.gov/drs/cwp/view.asp?Q=463054&A=1436

While Massachusetts shoppers are enjoying a tax free weekend, people heading to stores in Connecticut will soon enjoy a weeklong reprieve from the state sale taxes.Starting Sunday, Aug. 17 and lasting through Saturday, Aug. 23, the 6.35 percent sales and use tax will not be applied on clothing and footwear purchases costing less than $300.

The weeklong tax break is set to coincide with the back-to-school shopping season.

People can visit the state’s Department of Revenue Services’ website to find examples of clothing and footwear items that will be exempt from the tax.
