Vermont Lawmakers Have Differences Over Bills

WAMC/Pat Bradley

Uncertainty appears to be growing around a planned adjournment of the Vermont Legislature for this weekend.

The House and Senate appear to have significant differences over a bill to streamline school districts and reduce them in number.

In addition, there are significant differences between the two chambers on a miscellaneous tax bill. But they appear to be coming together on a bill to enhance training for police officers in the use of electronic stun guns.

Some lawmakers say they don't see the school governance bill being completed this year unless the session is extended into next week.
