VT Police Mark Decade Since Teen's Disappearance

Vermont State Police

Vermont police say investigators say they are still receiving tips about the 2004 disappearance of 17-year-old Brianna Maitland, last seen when she left her job at a Montgomery inn.

Wednesday is the 10th anniversary of Maitland's disappearance.

Police say there is a strong likelihood that Maitland was the victim of a crime.

Maitland was last seen when she left her job at the Black Lantern Inn in Montgomery VT at about 11:20 p.m. on March 19, 2004. Her car was found the next day next to an abandoned farmhouse a short distance from the inn where she worked.

Police say there is no evidence she left the area willingly.

State Police Major Glenn Hall says investigators believe someone knows what happened to her.

A $5,000 reward has been offered.
