During a trip to Pittsfield Tuesday, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick cleared up reports saying he would consider running for higher office after finishing his second term as governor.
When asked by a reporter from Poltico.com while attending the National Governors’ Association conference in Washington, D.C. last month whether he could see himself at some point making a White House bid Patrick said "Maybe." During a stop in Pittsfield, the Democrat had this to say.
“My plan is what it’s always been which is to return to the private sector,” Patrick said. “I’m looking forward to that. What that will be? I don’t know. Right now I’m focused on the job I have right now.”
Patrick is not seeking a third term as governor this year.
