VT Community Discusses Prescription Drug Abuse

Kingdom County Productions

Community members in the Vermont town of St. Johnsbury are holding a forum on prescription drug abuse.

The forum on Tuesday night is inspired by Barnet filmmaker Bess O'Brien's documentary "The Hungry Heart," which profiles recovering addicts in St. Albans.

The discussion will be held at 6 p.m. at North Congregational Church.

It's the third forum in St. Johnsbury since the screening of the film on Dec. 5.

The Caledonia Record reports that it’s part of an effort called, "A Continuing Community Conversation About Prescription Drug Abuse."

It is sponsored by the DART 2.0, which once operated as DART, which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Team.

The upcoming forum is aimed at discussing what is working well and what is not working.
